Packing The Right Amount Of Camping Equipment

Packing The Right Amount Of Camping Equipment

The last time that I was packing for a camping trip, I was shocked to see how much equipment I was trying to fit into the back of my car. This may well be an experience that you have had yourself. It’s particularly difficult to avoid if you are about to embark on a family camping holiday.

The reality is that we often need numerous pieces of camping equipment. Apart from the obligatory tent, we’re likely to have a range of items. We will want to think about our ability to prepare meals, to sleep comfortably and to wash regularly.

That means that the car boot can soon become cluttered with camping stoves, sleeping bags, camping toilets and all sorts of other accessories. How many of these are really necessary? In essence, that’s probably a question that only you can answer.

Some people are much better at travelling light than others are. Once again, we can see that this is more difficult to achieve when we are travelling as a family. A single traveler, on the other hand, may find it relatively easy to survive with fewer pieces of kit.

Many of us tend to assume the worst. As a result, we may be inclined to pack many items just in case they are needed. This isn’t necessarily a problem, just as long as we really do have enough room in the car.
But there is absolutely no point in packing a camping accessory if you know that it will not be used on your trip. Packing such an item is just creating extra work and hassle yourself. Many problems can be avoided by writing a good packing list prior to your departure.

As with so many things in life, the key to packing the correct amount of gear is to ensure that you plan properly. This is the best way for you to find success and to have a great holiday as a result.
Don’t pack more than you need, but always make sure that you are prepared for all eventualities.
