Camping is a favorite past time for families, but without the correct equipment, your trip could end before it even begins. By investing in good quality camping gear, you will have a thoroughly enjoyable camping trip, even if it is raining outside.

What kind of camping equipment you buy, will depend on personal choice and budget. But there is some equipment every camper should have, no matter how or where you camp. The basic items include:

Tents: this is the most important camping gear you will own. Camping tents, have changed in the last few years. They have gotten more expensive, roomier, stronger, lighter, and more waterproofed. And they’re easy to set up. Just make sure you buy one big enough for your needs and consider the amount of people that will be sharing sleeping quarters with you.

Sleeping bags: there are a lot of sleeping bags to choose from. But down bags are lighter, warmer and lighter for more comfort. They will keep us warm when it gets cold and cool when it is warm, than a synthetic will.

Air Mattresses: are more comfortable than foam pads, but they can be cold at times and they do tend to fail. If you place a foam pad on top of the air mattress it will give the added warmth and comfort.

Flashlights: the led flashlights are the new thing today. They are longer lasting and the led bulbs are much tougher. Don’t be caught in the dark.

Lanterns: there is now battery operated lanterns to make it much easier and safer than your fuel lanterns. Just don’t for get the batteries.

Insect control: don not allow pest to ruin your next outdoor adventure. Not only are insect bites annoying, they can carry harmful disease and cause illness. Camping equipment would not be complete without insect repellent.
